On May 5, 2018, actor Kevin Corrigan and singer/songwriter Mark Kozelek decided to correspond every day by email for a year.
Not missing a day, the two artists give detailed accounts of their lives from May 5, 2018 to May 5, 2019.
Kevin writes about his life on television sets, movie sets, and video shoots, present and past.
Mark chronicles studio sessions and his tours throughout the year, revealing poignant memories of his life in music. The two connect on their struggles with mid-life issues; coping with the loss of loved ones and the ever-changing entertainment industry that they've managed to navigate for decades.
Reveling in the nostalgia of childhood and growing up in the working-class neighborhoods of The Bronx and Massillon, Ohio, Kevin and Mark share similar values that have shaped their lives and careers. They bond at their deepest in regards to love for their parents.

Played almost entirely on nylon string guitar, this 17-song all original album was recorded between October 2011 and January 2012 in San Francisco. Among The Leaves - words which caught Mark's attention from a John Connolly novel - finds Mark relaxed, singing playfully about his life as a musician while retaining the melancholic spirit of his 20 year catalog. Mark's love for San Francisco and Northern California are at the heart of this new album. "My first album ( Down Colorful Hill ) was released in 1992" says Kozelek, "but creatively, I feel like I'm just beginning. The new album was written and recorded impulsively, without second guessing. I didn't have that kind of confidence in the past." Advance Base is the new musical project by Chicago, Illinois singer, songwriter, & producer Owen Ashworth (formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone). A Shut-In's Prayer is Ashworth's first full-length release in over three years, & his first under the name Advance Base. Recorded at home & in piano practice rooms at the Chicago Public Library, A Shut-In's Prayer is an intimate collection of deliberately crafted but decidedly lo-fi torch songs, waltzes & ballads. Ashworth sings nostalgic stories about lost loves, childhood friends, estranged siblings, & hard feelings over simple drum machine rhythms & spare percussion. The arrangements that fill out these ten songs intertwine gentle electric & upright piano melodies, filling the spaces between plainly-sung harmony vocals & strummed autoharp chords, with the occasional creaking floorboard or snapping reverb spring to remind you of the cramped rooms where this album was recorded. A few Red House Painters gems find their way in the live set, from Old Ramon's 'Cruiser' all the way back to Rollercoaster's 'Katy Song'. Also debuting here is the unreleased Kozelek take on Thin Lizzy's 'Randolph's Tango', available only on the vinyl pressing and digital versions of the record. Vinyl release date to be announced.
